Litany of the Sacred Heart

The Litany of the Sacred Heart is a traditional prayer often said by groups of people praying together. Throughout the prayer a leader will offer a title for Jesus that helps us reflect on the mysteries of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. The rest of the group acknowledges and responds by asking Jesus to have mercy on us.

Of course, you can also pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart alone by reading both parts yourself.

Begin by making the Sign of the Cross and saying:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
